Life-saving training for all staff

Every member of the team at EYDS will be given training in handling common medical emergencies including resuscitation techniques during a training day next month.

It is an annual update on new developments for many staff, and forms an essential part of the practice’s junior staff training curriculum.

Owner and clinical director Jason Spence BDS MSc said: “We have undertaken this very important training annually for the last 13 years, long before it became mandatory by the General Dental Council. We feel it is essential for all the team to be able to handle a medical emergency in any of our practices, it might just save someone’s life.”

All three practices will be closed for routine treatment on Wednesday, June 12, so that the training can take place, and an emergency service will run on that day.

Practice Manager Penny Higbee said: “We understand that closing for a few hours is an inconvenience to our patients, but this training is essential. We will endeavour to provide an emergency service on the day from as many venues as possible.”
